"If I were his, I would definitely be in his bed every night."

Lady (Name) heard the woman behind them whispered to another. She almost winced when inside she felt herself cringe. She walked arm in arm with Sebastian as they maneuvered their way to the host of the party. How vulgar those women are, she thought. She dared not look back to see them and it made her wonder how they get into Elizabeth's circle of friends. She risked a glance at her partner. He was wearing a fine tailored suit black as his hair combed at the side and a maroon cravat tied perfectly that matches his brown eyes. Spectacles was perched on his fine nose. She admit, he looked devilishly handsome and damn well respectable in his clothing. (Name) looked straight ahead and thought, 'no wonder every woman in here wants you.'

"Did I pass your test, my dear?" He asked as they neared the celebrant.

She arched a brow and when she looked...he was smiling! The devil, she thought. "So you heard that woman previously."

His answer started with an amused chuckle. "Men take pride when they are complimented by ladies."

"But darling they weren't for you. They were talking about me. And you weren't most men."

"Ah, if you we're like them then your nights wouldn't be so lonely and is that jealousy I hear?"

She half-smiled.

They neared the birthday celebrant and greeted her. The rest of the party, her partner took the chance of establishing good connections that she didn't care about but she will if it will take her ex-lover to be thrust in the mud. Bored as she was to find going home an appealing option to escape, a chill ran down her spine. She only felt this when someone was watching her, closely. She glanced at her partner, he didn't look alarmed. She clicked her tongue. It so hard sometime to figure out this demon.

Sometime later, Sebastian went fetch drinks for both of them and she agreed willingly if it meant she could be on her own even for a while.

"My lady." A dark-haired man with appeared beside her. "May I have this dance?"

She glanced at his face. He looked familiar and his eyes were the most intriguing ones she'd seen since Sebastian's. They were the color of amber with specks gold. "Of course," she heard herself say. It's like he'd put a spell on her when his eyes met hers. He led her to the dance floor as the waltz started. Other couples were with them as they stepped in the middle of the group.

"I don't believe we've been introduced." She looked at him warily.

"My apologies, madam. I'm a colleague of your fiancé. Dr. Faux at your service." The man's voice has the same suave and smoothness like Sebastian's.

"And you've been with my fiancé when?" She can't believe Sebastian working with a human if it weren't the purpose of eating his soul. It made her suspicious.

"When he's volunteering in a medical mission in Gibraltar." he answered.

"Oh, really?" Now, that was suspicious.

"May I be frank with you, Lady (Name)?" he said.

"Very well." she answered coolly.

"Are you happy with your relationship with the man?"

"I beg your pardon." She was caught off guard by the question, how very direct indeed. Again, she looked at the man warily and suspected that he knows somehow a secret.

He gave a shadow of a smile. "You must misunderstood me. I was just referring to his background. He was a—shall we say—reckless young man in his earlier years."

She took a moment thinking about how she would answer. "I've known about it and he told me. I wouldn't be staying if I hadn't been faithful to him."

"I'm merely saying that he too has a dark past." he said.

She arched her brow. "What's your point?"

"He has a curse with him that he still lives by."

"Everyone has a curse." She implied.

"Even you?" He directed his look at her an she find it arresting. Someone had looked at her like that not long ago.

She pursed her lips.

"The curse I was saying is true, my lady."

"You, sir, are most indiscreet in telling other people's secrets." He clearly is up to something. "Why are you telling me this anyway?"

He looked away for a fleeting moment and added a sly smile. "Apologies if I made you uncomfortable."

She frowned. She felt more than that, he found him...strange. His way of speaking unnerved her and it reminded her of Sebastian.

"What did you say again about your relation to my fiancé?"

"I worked with him and he's confessed his story with me a few times." he explained.

Confession isn't likely what she imagined Sebastian would do. But maybe from the past... "You mentioned a curse."

"Ah yes. It's quite a long story, my lady. But I'm afraid our dance is coming to an end."

You brought me here only to just tease me of information, she thought. "Is there any way I can indulge with your story?" He led her away from the dance floor and to the crowd.

"If you are that interested you may see me at my office tomorrow evening." A footman came their way and he picked up a glass and gave it to her.

She sipped. "Thank you." But his claim made her too curious for tomorrow. "Is there any other time. Maybe later this evening?"

"That can be arrange if you can manage to talk with me alone." He glanced behind her, sensing his need to exit. By that his hand closed upon hers and brought it close to his lips. He kissed it gently just as it would be proper to any other lady.

"My love." Sebastian's voice rang of hardness behind her. "You have your drink, I see."

But not proper enough for Sebastian. "Darling, that was Dr. Faux. He says he's your friend."

Another footman came along and Sebastian dropping both glasses on the saucer. "Claude."

"Oh, so that's his first name. Claude."

It suddenly made Sebastian expression sour. Hearing another man's name from her lips as if she we're already close with the man...demon. Something had been wrong lately. It bothered him more than he expected. The demon who had chatted with his employer should have sank his fangs to another hopeless soul. But tonight, he sensed more and more of his kind walked the earth and he wasn't told why or how. Not that he cared. He'd been too preoccupied lately but he doesn't regret anything from it. He looked at his lady again.

"What did he tell you?" He asked.

She exhaled sharply. "The man is as enigmatic as you."

"And do you find him my rival of it?"

She returned his gaze. "Do you really want me to answer that?"

They were alone in the balcony after chatting for half an hour with almost every guests in the ballroom.

"I am very intrigued by your conversation with my old—err—friend." he can't bear saying it.

"Oh, please Mon." she pleaded.

Mon was short of demon. The lady hadn't, by any chance, even if they were alone, call him by his name. It would make her feel too attached, too familiar, too close to him and she didn't want that.

"I'd told you what had gone between us." She was starting to get irritated and his pestering added to her not feeling well. Maybe it was because of the drink or maybe it was him.

"How so? Humor me, please."

She scoffed softly, clearly not speaking.

He gathered her close, coaxing her. "Tell me, love."

"Tch." She looked up at him and found his gaze. His eyes lit up at the moonlight but she knows it's not the reason of it. By his treatment and lack of audience, she should shove him away by now. But there are guests inside and they weren't alone and she feels weird after the drink and...She brought her wrists to her temples and shook her head. She moaned. Her discomfort took away her coldness. "I can't... I feel as though my head is swaying."

Her mouth found something soft. Then she realized Sebastian had tipped her chin and was kissing her. Again. In front of other people but with no purpose or audience. That should infuriate her but the feeling after drinking the alcohol made her do his bidding, surrendering to his exploits.

Sighing as she opened her mouth, he let him in. His infiltration of her mouth drowned her in his taste and scent. She knew he tasted well because of the wine. He didn't stop but gently and firmly brought his hand on her nape and deepened the kiss. It almost made her swoon to her knees. She tried to part her lips to protest only to be drawn back.

She liked it. She liked it very much. If heaven is how to describe how this damn devil kissed then it is heaven. With each sigh, she shared her moans with him and found her arms encircle him by the shoulders urging him to do more. This is the first time she let him do this to her and she seemed to enjoy it.

Her heart fluttered, realizing her mistake. Damn him to hell! She tried her best efforts to pull away and luckily he'd let her.

(Name) stared wide-eyed at him and took a deep breathe while he looked down on her, remaining his cool. She glared at him for it. How can he be so calm? She nearly brought her hand up to slap him. But she blinked, suddenly remembering something. Her expression turned regretful.

Her appointment.

"I have to go."

:iconbassyplz:*Background of Sebastian in this story:
He was momentarily released from Ciel, now an adult (let's say he can grow up), a demon in disguise married to Elizabeth Middleford. His freedom was to find another deal to fulfil. But he does not hold his liberty. For Ciel ordered him to do the right thing and never wrong. Oh, irony. But for him it is better than to be stuck with him for the rest of his immortal life.

This is the second part of the series where she finds herself doubting everything she's done after giving up herself for revenge. Another man enters her life  as she plotted what to to do in her next scheme. But of course Sebastian wouldn't allow anyone to go after her..prey on her for he is the only one she could only have.
